The  Jr. NBA Johannesburg League2018 finals took place on Sunday, 9 September at St Peters College. The action-packed league was brought together in partnership with Ford South Africa.  It was a closely fought battle for the championship trophy for both the female and male teams.

In the female finals, it was the Soweto Sun battling it out against the Phoenix Mercury. The Debutants in the final - team Soweto Sun, brought their fighting spirt to the game and walked away victorious.  The boy’s final was just as riveting, the tip-off was between the Brooklyn Nets taking on the San Antonio Spurs. The Brooklyn Nets led throughout the game and eventually to the Jr. NBA Johannesburg League trophy.

An obstacle course race like no other, the Multiply Adventure Challenge, will be taking place on Saturday, the 8^th of September at Riversands Farm Village in Midrand. Everyone, from adrenaline junkies and sports fanatics, to gym enthusiasts and non-athletic adventurous spirits are invited to take part in this fast-paced, spectator-friendly event. 

The 3.5km race has been carefully planned by experts from Warrior Race, who have spearheaded the meteoric rise of obstacle racing in South Africa. To ensure that everyone can get in on the fun, they’ve created three courses, each with a different number of obstacles - the Extremist with 25, the Brave with 22 and the Apprentice with 15.

In addition to giving athletes the chance to put themselves to the test, the Multiply Adventure Challenge promises a fun day out for the whole family, with activities, refreshments and even a chill zone. What’s more, there’ll be a Momentum Health Kiddies Area - which will be free for children of the participants (but not those of spectators) - to ensure that little ones aged 2 to 12 years of age are safe and well taken care of by qualified child-minders. Not only will the kids be entertained with arts and crafts, jumping castles and loads more, they can also compete in a fun obstacle course of their own.

Previously a teacher before shifting her focus to acting, singing and now cooking, Mthiyane has been cooking for the past ten years. She got her talent for cooking from her family, as everyone in her family loves making magic in the kitchen. That is when she decided to turn her passion into a career and eventually, business that she is currently running.

Seshoene also quit her job four years ago to follow her passion. She started out by teaching individuals cooking skills and when the demand for lessons surpassed what she could handle, she decided to quit her job to focus entirely on what she does best. A few years later, she is now one of the best celebrity chefs in South Africa.
