So, Edgars Club magazine asked me to do a reader experience for their October 2015 issue. As much as I felt a bit intimidated at first to do it, I got excited when I found out it was for a personal shopper experience at Topman. What got me even more excited was seeing the first draft of the feature! Some of you may have already seen the article; but for those who haven't - pop into an Edgars store, grab a copy of the magazine (with a beautiful lady wearing sunglasses on the cover), turn to page 120 and this is what you'll see...

With 320 "likes"on my personal Facebook page, this, for me, broke the internet. Thank you all for the love and support. Let's hope this StreetKid will get to do more of this type of thing :)

StreetKid chats to Bona magazine about freedom post ‘94

I’m not usually one who writes about oneself but chatting to Bona Magazine about freedom, amongst other things, is one of many conversations I like to have with people. Such conversations are engaging, thought provoking and you end up learning quite a few things not only about yourself, but also about other people’s views and opinions on a subject matter.

In case you didn’t know, Bona asked four young South Africans multiple questions around freedom – from what the word means to them to other issues pertaining to the subject matter. As much as it looks easy on the published article, answering those questions (and shooting) was quite a challenge. I must admit that being a “schmodel” is not an easy job but thanks to my friend Songezo Gxalaba as well as Nomsa Madida, Sonia Mokheseng, Phila Tyekana and Andile Mathebula (photographer) for making the shoot so much fun!

Meet Rockville's "Owethu"...my #WCW

As much as we have so much talent in this country when it comes to acting, it’s so nice to see fresh faces on our TV screens from time to time and Vuyiseka Cawe is one of those fresh faces. You may have seen her on The Gift (Mzansi Magic), Rhythm City (eTV) and recently on the hit drama series that’s making waves every Sunday – Rockville Season 3. From playing Image Consultant to playing a "hooker", I asked her a couple of questions just to find out (for you) what tickles her fancy…

1. I wouldn’t mind having dinner with… Marilyn Monroe, if she was still alive.

2. Before I started acting I was… Doing applied Theatre, which I'm still doing.

3. My inspiration is… The beauty of life! You never know what to expect.

4. I can’t function without… My cellphone.

5. My most embarrassing moment was … Oh, no! (LOL) When I was a co-host on Bay FM and I pronounced Kylie Minogue’s surname incorrectly.

6. The best thing about me is…. I forgive easily and I don't hold grudges.

7. The craziest thing I’ve ever done was… Yhu, I'm so crazy! So I'm always doing something crazy…LOL

8. My “celebrity” crush is… He is a south African hip hop artist, raps very nicely in Zulu… That's all I can say, plus he has a mole…

9. If I could edit my past I would change…... I would not edit anything, not that everything was perfect. My past has moulded me into the Vuyiseka I am today.

10. What I would you tell the 10-year-old Vuyiseka is… make the most of every moment. Live it, feel it!.

Be part of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival

In just seven days, the Mother City (Cape Town) will play host to the largest music event in sub-Saharan Africa. Dubbed as “Africa’s Grandest Gathering”, the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) has seen many artists perform over two nights across five stages. Now in its 16^th year, I’m sure they’ll go even bigger with their star-studded line up.

But before you we can get all excited about that; did you know that there are FREE workshops that will be taking place before the festival kicks off? The CTIJF department of Training and Development is offering free workshops that are an interactive encounter presented by some of the top jazz and urban musicians in the world.

First up is the Music Technology workshop, introducing attendees to dynamic learning experiences in music education. These workshops will teach those attending how to effectively use common devices like Smart Phones, Tablets and PC's to control their music instruments and equipment for on-stage and recording purposes. Check the image below for more info.

The CTIJF "Music Business" workshops would benefit anyone interested in working within the music industry but in the fields of production, event management, marketing, public relations and advertising. These workshops basically focus on the business of music.

Last but not least, the CTIJF “Master Classes” are aimed at budding musicians and artists. Local and international artists who will share their experiences are:
