Side-splitting humour heads to Golden Horse Casino
Pietermaritzburg’s top entertainment destination, Golden Horse Casino, is kicking off the year with hilarious humour in the form of Broken English - a hit comedy tour featuring two of the countries up and coming comedians: Loyiso Madinga and Schalk Bezuidenhout. The tour will be making its stop in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday, 24 February 2018.
Loyiso and Schalk began their comedy careers in 2011 and have created a large following for themselves. Trevor Noah is fan of both comedians and selected them to be part of his NationWILD tour which showcased young comedians whom he felt will shake up the industry. Now, the two are taking the country by storm with their Broken English tour.
Loyiso is a talented comedian whose career has skyrocketed since winning the Savanna Comic’s Choice Award for Best Newcomer in 2014. Highlights have included appearing on Comedy Central’s Live at Parkers alongside Tumi Morake, performing three times on David Kau’s Blacks Only show and opening for legends John Vlismas and Deep Fried Man. Recently, he was handpicked by Trevor Noah himself to be the first South African correspondent on the Daily News Show on Comedy Central.
Schalk is no stranger to the local comedy scene. The Gauteng born comedian started doing stand-up comedy whilst studying in Cape Town. He gained national recognition when he made it to the finals of the Graça Comedy Showdown in Johannesburg in 2011. Since then, he has performed at some of the biggest venues around the country.
“We are so excited to be hosting these talented comedians at our venue. Guests can look forward to an entertaining night with endless laughter,” says Maureen Kivits, Golden Horse Casino General Manager.
Tickets are available at the Golden Horse Casino website and Computicket at R120 per person. There’s more laughter in store this year with Riaad Moosa’s one-man show scheduled for 14 April 2018. For more information visit www.goldenhorse.co.za .
