Celebrating 15 Years of Musical Excellence with Quava Vocal Group
Quava Vocal Group, a vibrant and talented internationally acclaimed and award-winning Johannesburg-based choir, is thrilled to announce its 15th anniversary celebration concert, set to take place on Saturday 2nd November at the M1 Studios in Auckland Park.
Over the past decade and a half, Quava has brought beautiful music to its audiences, fostering a deep sense of community, love and healing through song and performance, with their diverse repertoire of jazz, African, and contemporary choral works.

Conducted by musical director Sabelo Mthembu, Quava’s 15th anniversary concert promises a captivating evening of music, stories, and celebration of the human spirit through song.

• Won GOLD at the 2022 World Choral Cup in Spain beating thirty-one choirs from 24 other countries
• Conductor of the Tournament for Sabelo Mthembu at the 2022 World Choral Cup in Spain
• Two GOLD medals at the 2018 World Choir Games in Tshwane
• Standing Ovation Award at the 2019 National Arts Festival in Makhanda.
• Performed at the RMB Starlight Classics in 2019 as well as in 2023
• Their debut album, In Your Light, was released in December 2022.
