Diversity & Inclusion Virtual Youth Event 2021

 All4Youth Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Regional Alliance Presents #BETheVoice Campaign



To celebrate youth month in South Africa the All4YOUth regional Alliance partners have shown their support to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and across communities through #BETheVoice campaign to raise awareness and encourage diversity & inclusivity in the workplace and across communities. The virtual seminar will take place on 15th June 2021.

This event is one way of supporting and amplifying global initiatives launched in the past few years. There has been a global surge in public focus on and commitment to gender rights and diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the workplace; from the #MeToo and #BlackLivesMatter movements, and calls for equal pay, to CEOs publicly weighing in on the importance of this issue through initiatives such as the #WeSeeEqual summit and CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge.

Webinar patrons can expect action-packed sessions filled with empowering talks, and robust panel discussions related to gender diversity and inclusivity issues by some of South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa’s renowned individuals who are passionate about creating a gender balanced continent both economically and socially. Speakers include:

Refilwe Modiselle - Africa's successful model, and award-winning actress, born with albinism and Zulaikah Patel - South African anti-racism activist are among the esteemed speakers of the day.

All4Youth SSA’s primary objective is to create and implement employability programmes, mentorship and training initiatives that will equip the youth with essential workplace skills.   Our ambition is to support 1 million young people by 2022 through capacity building, increase employability chances by focusing on career pathing, work readiness, mentoring and coaching.

How it works?

Four-week campaign to get 1000 attendees to join #TheVoice virtual event. A platform for young people to engage in dialogue with social activists, communities from – cultural aspects, body positivity, disabilities, gender inclusion and structural challenges. #TheVoice will encourage conversations of an inclusive society and diversity in the workplace. 

#BETheVoice Campaign & Outcome.

An opportunity for young people to submit proposals that outline social inclusion & diversity programmes and share their voices. The best proposal will stand a chance to present their idea to the alliance and win a prize to support their charity or project for diversity & inclusion.

About the Regional Alliance for Youth

The Regional Alliance for Youth in Sub-Saharan Africa is an expansion of the Alliance for YOUth, which was founded by Nestlé in Europe in 2014. The Alliance has since been launched in Pacific Alliance countries in 2017 (Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru) and the Mercosur countries in December 2018 (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay). In January 2019, at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, a Global Alliance consisting of 20 international companies was launched.   To date, 7 companies have joined the Alliance in Sub Saharan Africa: Nestle, ABB, Adcorp group, Nielsen Africa, Publicis, Microsoft & Power FM.

Zweli possess 21 years of extensive experience in Strategic Leadership, Public Speaking, Government Liaison, Stakeholder and Media Relations, Community Development, Marketing, Speech Writing as well as Change Management.  Over these years, he has held several senior executive positions in both Government as well as the private sector – working and advising some of South Africa’s Government Ministers and CEOs.  He also possesses international experience having travelled, presented and engaged with various stakeholders in the USA, Australia, UK, Switzerland, Germany, UAE, etc.
